This post is going to be a little different from my usual burbling about irrelevancies, in that it is actually topical. I have recently become aware of Charlie Sheen’s views about the 9/11 attacks (11/9 to be precise) and the interesting questions he has raised. Sheen speculates that the 9/11 attacks were not caused by terrorists and were actually planned and orchestrated by the US government as a deliberate psychological attack on the American public. Quite an astonishing accusation and one that has not been well received by a lot of people. Well, by ‘a lot of people’, I mean the American media. YouTube is loaded with videos of various US “news” shows demonising Sheen and labelling him as a liberal nutcase.
On this vein, I subsequently discovered a documentary all about the 9/11 attacks called 'Loose Change 2nd Edition', which supports the ideas that Charlie Sheen has brought to light and highlights a great many disturbing things. I urge people to take some time out to watch it as it’s very interesting, albeit rather worrying. Certainly, combining this documentary with Michael Moore’s 'Fahrenheit 9/11' leaves one with a pretty unsettling conclusion. Granted all these things are mere speculation and based on evidence that could largely be described as coincidental at a push; but given that the US government possesses all the evidence as to the real events that took place and keeps them closely sealed away under lock and key… well, people with nothing to hide generally don’t withhold evidence that would validate their innocence.

Anyway, I just thought it was all quite interesting and thought I’d share it with you. It’d be nice if it is all just the rantings of deranged (presumably liberal) conspiracy theorists and that the American government is a fluffy, cuddly organisation that seeks to promote global peace and wouldn’t dream of being involved in such a diabolical act. Malheureusement, like Blade says, “the world isn’t nice”.
